In case you missed it and wanted to know more, or if you enjoy hearing about a peculiar experience, here is an update on our cooperative event with Cinema out of the Box! a few weeks ago:
COofB! volunteers arrived in their Milk Plus Box Bike toting all their gear.
COofB! volunteers arrived in their Milk Plus Box Bike toting all their gear.
They then set everything up, right in La Cave! We watched the film on our one bare wall.
The projector and sound system were all powered by a battery which, in turn, was powered by participants in the event on a bike attached to a rig which powers the battery.
The film was "La Haine"(1995) directed by Mathieu Kassovitz, a film depicting "...19 consecutive hours in the lives of three friends in their early twenties from immigrant families living in an impoverished multi-ethnic French housing project (a ZUP – zone d'urbanisation prioritaire) in the suburbs of Paris, in the aftermath of a riot..."
Following which we had a facilitated discussion where we discussed the film and both Cinema out of the Box! and La Cave Bike Collective as sustainability projects!
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and remember to keep an eye out for more coming from both La Cave and COofB!
